〔SELECAO_RP〕 APPLICATION
Player Name: Kaye
Character Name: Alphard Alshaya
Character Series: CANAAN
Canon Point: post episode seven
Preferred Housing: N/A
Background: Alphard @ the TYPE-MOON wiki
Personality: Alphard is, in a word, enigmatic. Always one to keep her calm no matter what the situation, it's difficult to tell what she's thinking about. Even the people who are closest to her would not be able to tell you what she's really like; from those who adore her ardently to those who simply work for her, no one can really get a grasp on what kind of person she is. Things that might impress or otherwise earn her favor at one point might get an entirely different reaction out of her the next. She's smart, as one has to be to be the head of a terrorist organization, that's for sure. She's also strong, perhaps surprisingly so depending on how she decides to present herself. However, beyond that it's hard to say much else about her. Depending on the situation, she might be a serene and gentle rumored noble or a cold and ruthless terrorist doing whatever it takes to get a job at hand done. No matter how she presents herself, there is always an air of detachment and disquieting calm about her.
If there's one thing she takes pride in though, it's certainly her own strength. The physical side of it doesn't even need to be mentioned--taking down an elite army squadron doesn't take too much effort to be honest, and neither does defending herself from a trained hitman in the bathroom. No, what she takes pride in is crawling back up in the mud that is hatred. She's lived through the disgrace, crawled up and out of it, and now stands far above it. Unlike Canaan who is consumed by her hatred for Alphard, Alphard herself thinks nothing of it. In fact, she easily lets Canaan go despite having the chance to kill her merely out of amusement and a desire to see what the other girl tries to do next. She has fun with it and certainly doesn't care about the consequences regarding it.
In general, Alphard sees emotion as a weakness. Letting it overtake you, control your every thought, consuming you--in that sense, emotion is nothing but a hindrance. People who are easily emotional more or less have no use to her, and she'll quickly dispose of them herself if they prove to be too much of a burden. On the other hand, strong emotions sometimes amuse her as well. While she normally would have no problem killing a subordinate who was motivated by his emotions, she exerted mercy and allowed him to live, simply telling him to show her what exactly he could do with his "love". Alphard is the type of person where if it amuses her, she'll make exceptions to her own personal code for the sake of being entertained or even surprised.
When all is said and done though, Alphard is a deeply complex person, the depths of which are never entirely explored in canon. Even when it comes to people who are supposedly close to her, she has little trouble in letting them go; she killed her mentor Siam with her own hands and showed no remorse when the girl who called her "Big Sister" died directly because of how much she loved Alphard. Despite that though, Alphard is also bound to her past. According to Canaan, Alphard died when Siam died; she killed him with her own gunshot and clearly enjoyed getting a rise out of Canaan from that, but in some way she also regretted her actions. Her exact relationship with Siam is left unclear, but there must have been some level of closeness for her to have the same tattoo as he did, even if she is the one who ended that relationship. She herself realizes that she is still bound to her past, but she also rises to overcome it and let go once and for all. Regardless of how difficult the action is, Alphard will always commit to doing it if it leads to what she wants for herself.
